Open wave offered for the Sprint and International distance races.  Open wave intended for elite amateur athletes.

My First Tri:  250 meter swim – 5.5mile bike (1 loop) – 2 mile run

Sprint:  750 meter swim – 11mile bike (2 loops) – 5k run

International:  1500 meter swim (2 loops) – 22 mile bike (4 loops) – 10k run

Course Notes:
The swim is in a small, man-made lake. Very spectator friendly and well supported by kayaks and lifeguards.  NO SWIMMING IN LAKE ALLOWED PRIOR TO RACE DAY!!

The bike is on nice concrete urban roads. The course is slightly hilly but fast. Each major intersection and turn around will be traffic controlled with directional assistance.

The run course is moderately hilly and challenging. Aid stations will be located approximately every 1 mile. Each aid station is equipped with water.

The course officially closes at 1pm for all participants.

Group Training Program for the Stonebridge Sprint/International Triathlon

Join our 8 week training program that kicks off July 7th and experience the contagious energy of training with people all sharing the same goals and challenges! Training with our group has endless benefits: a structured program, safe and trusted training routes, opportunities to meet new friends, not to mention coached workouts! Accountability is also a huge perk as most athletes find they will go the "extra mile" when they are not alone.

Free Coach Consultation

Pre-register by Tuesday September 23rd at info@playtri.com and get a 30 minute Consultation with a Playtri Coach free during packet pickup hours at the Playtri Store only.  This is your opportunity to meet with a Playtri Coach and get advice on any topic.  A schedule will be sent out to registrants a week prior to pick a time slot.

Triathlon Race Day packet pick up is available for an additional $20 fee, cash or check when you pick up the packet. All packets must be picked up no later than 6:30am race morning.

There is no Race Day Registration for the Triathlon.

Note: No refunds given to those participants who have not picked up their packets.

USAT Membership

The Stonebridge Triathlons are USAT sanctioned events. All participants must be a current annual member of USAT or purchase a one day permit for $12 or a $45 annual membership through online registration or at packet pick up.

All established USAT rules will be in effect and will be strictly enforced. You must show your USAT member card and your photo ID at packet pick up - no exceptions. Friends and family will not be allowed to pick up anyone's packet. If you are an annual USAT member and do not bring your member card to packet pick up, you must buy a $12 one day membership or a $45 annual membership

Athena and Clydesdale Rule Change - 3.2 Age Group Competition

  • a. All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete's age on December 31 of the year of the event.
  • b. Weight Class Division - In events where a weight class division is offered, the minimum weight shall be 220 pounds for men and 165 pounds for women, monitored by the event organizer. The weight class age categories for men and women shall be 39 years of age and under and 40 years of age and over. Participants are not eligible to compete in a weight class division and in an age group division at the same event.

Awards

Top 3 Overall Open Male and Female (Open Wave participants only - Open Wave intended for elite athletes).

Top Overall Masters and Grand Masters male and female (Open Wave not eligible for these awards).

Age Group / Weight Class awards will be 3 deep for both Male and Female (Open Wave not eligible for these awards).

Relay Team awards will be for top 3 in each category (male, female, coed).

Top 5 male/female awards for My First Tri.

All Athletes will receive a Finisher's Medal.

Benefiting Charity

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Weather / Water Temp

Current water temperature is TBA

Water temperature could be wetsuit legal at this event. USAT Wetsuit rules will apply – participants allowed to wear a wet suit without penalty in any event sanctioned by USA Triathlon up to and including a water temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit.

For safety reasons, Playtri reserves the right to modify or cancel a race due to severe weather conditions. When severe weather is present, all precautions will be made to ensure the safety of the athletes.

Chip Timing by Run-Far

Run-Far Athlete Tracking

Run-Far Racing Services will be providing athlete updates via text message on the day of the race. An invitation to take advantage of this option will be emailed out about one week before race day. Let your friends and family keep track of you throughout your race!

This is a chip timed event. Each participant will be required to wear a timing chip in order to be counted in the results. Timing chips are assigned to participants according to bib number. Please pick up your timing chip the morning of the race at the chip timing station beginning an hour before race start. ALL TIMING CHIPS SHOULD BE RETURNED AFTER YOU CROSS THE FINISH LINE. A $30.00 fee will be charged to the participant if the timing chip is not returned. Awards are based on chip times.
