ABOUT USA TRIATHLON
A USAT Annual Membership or a One-Day License is required to race. If you are not an annual member, you must purchase a one-day license to participate in a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. A one-day license also provides the athlete participant accident medical coverage while they are participating in a USA Triathlon Sanctioned Event.
One-Day Licenses are purchased for a specific race, are transferable, are non-refundable.
Our registration system will allow the purchase of a One-Day License while registering for this race.
This event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and rules will be in effect, please familiarize yourself with those prior to the event: https://www.usatriathlon.org/multisport/rules
USAT “RACE AGE” POLICY
An athlete's age for any USAT sanctioned race will be his/her age as of Dec. 31 of the current race year. The age he/she is on 12/31 will determine his/her racing age group. If an athlete is due to "age-up" into the next group, it will happen at the beginning of the year, not after the athlete's birthday.
This action aligns regular U.S. age group racing with the method used by USA Triathlon for its National Rankings Program and its Grand Prix Series.
Relays
COMPETE AS A RELAY TEAM! Do you belong to a triathlon club? Or have a group of friends or family that like to do triathlons? Encourage your club or friends & family to participate as a relay team! To create a relay team the first team member to register, after choosing the relay option (Triathlon or Run/Bike/Run), will select “Create New Team”, during the registration process, and name the team. Then share the Team Name with your group. This Team Member will pay the Relay Entry Fee. Members of your group can then choose the relay option, then select “Join Existing Team”, type in the team name, and register under that Team Name. When every Team Member registers they will enter their USAT Membership Number or purchase a One Day License. Team members can be male & female with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3. You all will decide who participates in which portion of the race (Swim, Bike, Run).
All team members must have their own USAT membership (whether annual or one day).
All 2 or 3 members of a relay team will share one race number and one timing chip. Timing chip is to be handed off to the next member at the bike racked in the transition area. As the swimmer arrives at the bike, he or she will give the chip to the cyclist. As the cyclist completes the bike course and arrives at the bike, he or she will hand off the timing chip to the runner. Bicycle must be placed on the bike rack while chip exchanges take place.
** If you are part of a relay team, you will share a timing chip with your teammates. If you do not live in the same household, please bring sanitizing wipes or other tool to sanitize the chip when you receive or hand it out. You and your teammates are responsible for this exchange.
Refund Policy
No refunds or transfers allowed.
A considerable amount of work and planning goes into planning events like this one and we do so with the best intentions. Refunding entry fees based on changes of participants schedules is not feasible as permits and basic provisions must be ordered ahead of time. We appreciate your support and understanding, and we will continue to work hard to produce fun and safe events for your best experience.

Volunteers
Without volunteers, we simply can't have races. Without volunteers, there is no one to tell athletes where to turn, hand out water, cheer eberyone on - and yes - how much fun is body marking?! Volunteers get everyone pumped up and motivated. As a volunteer, you'll feel like you made a valuable contribution to the success of the race. And who knows? You could turn into a participant at the next race! Simply put, volunteers are the heart of triathlon races.

Virtual Race
A virtual triathlon is a race that can be completed at any location. You can walk, use the treadmill, run outside or participate in another race. You can ride on a trainer or cycle outside. You can swim in a pool, a lake or the sea! You can run your race at your pace anywhere! This is a great way for the rookie athlete to build up confidence to show up for the real thing!
Virtual races are a great way to stay fit, motivated, have the sense of participating and get a great t-shirt and medal!
You can complete the required distance in each discipline during the week coming up to the actual race, in your pace, in your environment.
You can send us your stats to virtual@playtri.com You can send the evidence of completing the race distances to virtual@playtri.com but it is not required. You can send a screenshot from an app, your watch, your laptop or even a photo of your treadmill results for your runs. You can use MayMyRun / MapMyRide, Strava, Garmin or any other digital fitness app. Submitting evidence of your swim distance is harder, unless you have a swim compatible device so you will we believe you did it. At the end of the day, if you don't do it, you would only be lying to yourself and you would not be able to wear a cool t-shirt with a triathlon logo!
T-shirt and finisher medal will be mailed to you the week after the race. Have fun out there!
