PLAYTRI OPEN WATER TRAINING: YEAR-ROUND
The Playtri Open Water Club is the longest-running weekly open water program in the DFW Metroplex. Athletes from all over the metroplex and from a variety of local and national coaching programs join us every week throughout the season.
Off-Season Swim (October-February):
Pool training every Saturday, 12:00-1:00 PM @ Don Rodenbaugh Aquatic Center (Allen, TX)
Open to Playtri Individual Athletes, Team Members and OWS Annual Members
Open Water Skill Clinics @ Greenhill School Pool (Addison, TX)
Saturday, November 16th @ 9:00-10:30 AM
Saturday, December 14th @ 9:00-10:30 AM
Saturday, January 11th @ 9:00-10:30 AM
Free to Playtri Individual Athletes, Team Members and OWS Annual Members
Other athletes may drop in with a $10 cash fee (cash only, no CC, Venmo, etc)

PLAYTRI OPEN WATER SWIM: The Details
Swims every Saturday at 7:30 AM (March through September)
Coached groups for skill development and deep water/long course implementation
Lifeguard and kayak at every practice
A true opportunity to work on pack swimming with consistently large weekly turnout
40 mile long ride option post-swim (starting April 13th)
Swims start on March 30th, assuming the water temp in Lake Lewisville gets ABOVE 57 degrees Fahrenheit - updates will be posted on the Facebook Event Page as we get closer to our start date
We will not swim if water is 56 F or colder - we use Texas Parks & Wildlife for our water temp determination:

2024 SWIM Season DETAILS
Location: Pier 121 Marina (details below)
Day & Time: Saturdays, 7:30-8:45 AM
Training Groups:
Skills Development (less experienced OWS athletes)
Deep Water Swim (experienced OWS athletes)
The Fun Stuff:
Playtri OWS Waiver (print, sign and bring to your first swim of the season)
All athletes must bring and wear a brightly colored swim cap for OWS - no cap, no swim!

2024 Group Ride Options
40 Mile “Drop” Ride (17-19 mph rolling avg) - STARTS APRIL 13TH
9:00-9:15 AM start time
Leaves from Pier 121 (will pick up non-swimmers or those who carpooled in at East Hill Park along the way)
Led by Playtri Coach or volunteer depending on the week
Must have current Playtri waiver to ride: www.playtri.com/waiver
20 Mile “No Drop” Ride (pace varies based on group)
Starts at 9:15 AM
Leaves from Playtri Cycling in The Colony (NOT from the Pier!)
Led by Playtri Cycling Staff
Rider Requirements and Responsibilities:
Know the route (posted on OWS event and Playtri Cycling social media)
Bring helmet, flat kit and any nutrition/hydration you need for your ride
Have cash or CC and a photo ID in case of emergency
Ride predictably, holding your line and clearly announcing changes in speed or direction
If you are not a confident handler, tell your group lead and stay at the back of the group
Obey traffic laws

There is a $14 per car fee, we recommend you carpool or park off-site and bike in!
